Management Interaction Cell

(MIC)

“The conventional definition of management is getting work done through people, but real management is developing people through work.”

MIC is the official management interaction and coordination society of  Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies , DU (SSCBS). The society firmly believes that developing managers must master personal development and with the array of activities the society undertakes, it aims at development of Management skills (interpersonal skills, analytical skills and conceptual skills) among the students.

MIC provides students of CBS with its much needed industry exposure. Thus, it helps them to gain the upper hand when they step out into the fiercely competitive corporate world of today as they possess not only theoretical knowledge but also practical exposure.

Aim: All the different activities that we undertake are with the basic and core aim of helping students bridge their academics with the industry. We help to provide opportunities, thereby assisting them to apply their skills on real life case studies.

What we do: We organize different activities each year, which can be broadly classified as:

Industrial Visits:
Visits to various Industries are organized to give first-hand exposure to students, on the various operations conducted in different industries. The aim here is to provide students with the practical experience of the theories studied in various subjects at college and hone their operational and strategic management skills. This provides the students practical insight to deal with the real life problems and challenges.

Guest Sessions:
Valuable experience of successful personalities helps students to obtain a first person account of the inspirational and successful corporate instances thus helping them gain invaluable knowledge that gives a new dimension to their thought process.
Lectures on various current financial and management issues help CBSites to update their knowledge and awareness level.

Case Study Analysis: Presentations and  Competitions:
Case Study Presentations and Competitions provide an opportunity to learn from real life cases and problems.
Here, students break free from class room learning and expand their horizons by finding out viable and feasible solutions to the given case/problem.

Panel Discussions:
Panel Discussions are done among Lecturers and Professors of different fields related to business and management.
Discussions on various current financial and management issues keep the students at CBS updated and well informed about the latest important events and happenings in the corporate world.
Plus, the students can raise questions, clarify their doubts and understand different aspects of the issue through the viewpoints of panelists who belong to varied fields.

Management and Business Conventions all over the country :

MIC keeps track of management conventions being organized by prestigious colleges of the country as well as various organizations.
MIC co-ordinates with them, and is solely responsible for selecting and sending the team from CBS to these conventions.

After successful events like these, MIC still has a long way to go. In its endeavors, MIC appreciates the efforts of its team as well as the CBS community which has made it all possible.

Apart from the above mentioned events, we're looking forward to Organizing new events , involving a blend of fun and learning, with the aim to make business management interesting for students.
